I Love Little Michael

July 13, 2017

This quote comes from the movie with Adam Sandler, The Longest Yard.

But the true inspiration behind this is that the other day I was driving and trying to find that space within myself where I feel creative where I feel inspired, and somehow I just couldn't quite shake the song "Beat It" by Michael Jackson.

And this got me thinking on a deeper plane: what all does this mean? And how can we perceive it? Do we live to the beat of our own drum? Do we try to beat the system? Do we beat ourselves up because we can't find a means to an end? Funny how words can have so many meanings and such to different perception of its very core.

How do we survive this beaten world that we live in? How do we come up from the ashes and transform ourselves from charcoal to a diamond? What are we truly trying to achieve and once we achieve the Ultimate Goal, will we feel glory or simply hollow knowing that now we have to beg the question: what is next?

"Beat me hate me you can never break me" Michael Jackson

As I went through pictures of Michael, I saw pictures of him in moments of passion, fear, triumph and transformation. The popstar became a much different man than the boy singing "ABC123." He became a legend and still is today. But to say that he didn't have his moments of being judged would be a lie. We are are judged every day, but do we allow that judgment to stop us from being a superstar?

This life is full of cycles, always wanting what we can't have and never wanting what we already have. Somehow the grass is always greener on the other side...

There's a simplicity a lack of stress they say to being poor, and yet the poor are always stressed because they need more money, while the richer always stressed because they're afraid of losing what they have.

The truth is that there will always be stress in life. It is not the stress in life that will get you though--it is the way that you handle it, the way you perceive it, the way you look at the world and know that on the edge of fear is freedom. On the edge of every accomplishment is a sleepless night.

From fear we rise from the ashes, we become the person we have always sought to be, but without trying we will truly never accomplish anything.

There will always be more fear, fear of change, fear of loss, fear of accomplishment, fear of lack of accomplishment--but you can't let fear stop you from living your life. You have to fall on your face 1000 times as a child to learn how to walk and you have to fall on your face 1000 times as an adult to learn how to thrive.

So the next time you screw up and you're just really kicking yourself remember to fall forward.- Samuel L. Jackson.

Remember that that failure is another opportunity to find the answer toward your own truth!
